Pure Simplicity

When you’re forced to be simple, you’re forced to face the real problem. When you can’t deliver ornament, you have to deliver substance. – Paul Graham

Probably a lesson I could have taken to heart this week. Life has a way of bringing up problems, and when I put on my engineering hat instead of my designer hat, it becomes quite complex. Suddenly I'm analyzing all the possible solutions, and figuring out which one has the best probability to give me a positive outcome.

But the true answer is usually quite simple, and the over-analysis ends up being wasted effort. Often it is best to put away the engineers hat and put on the designers hat, and go with your gut. Stop analyzing and start doing!

I'm sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last few days.
