Snail Email

John Kestner has come up with a way to make the digital realm physical, in a very low tech fashion. His Tableau is a nightstand which sends and delivers Twitter feeds. When a new tweet is made, a printer inside the nightstand prints it out, and the knob lights up. If you want to send a tweet, drop a note in the night stand and close it, and it will be scanned and uploaded. Watch the video below to see how it works.

Often, we think of interaction design as how the user will interface with a screen layout. But John takes interaction design to a whole new level, that only involves rudimentary technology, which gives it a very personal feel. What are other ways to recreating interfaces to make them more organic and personal?
