Physicality of Music, Part 3

In covering the physicality of music, I have to mention Siftables, even though they have been out for a while. So what are Siftables?

Siftables are small computers that recognize and interact with each. They also have a screen which covers one entire surface. These blocks are capable of executing many different programs, one of which is an interactive music game. Shown in the video below, is a musical series created by three blocks. Notice how other blocks represent instruments, and can be added to the sequence, or how the tone can be adjusted by tilting other blocks.

To get a bigger picture for what these blocks can do, watch the TED talk by the creator, David Merrill. He has now started a company, Sifteo, based around the product.
